People and machines are most useful when each does what it is good at. DyadForge builds software on that idea, one product at a time.
The idea
A lot of software is built to take something from the person using it: data, attention, control, a monthly fee for a feature that was held back on purpose.
We think software can be powerful without asking for any of that. The machine can do the exact, repetitive, computational work, very fast and at scale. The person keeps the intent, the context, the judgment and the responsibility for the result. When a product respects that split, it is easier to trust, because you can see what it is doing.
That is the whole company in two words. A dyad is a pair that works as one. A forge is where useful things are made with care.
How the company works
Plain facts, no theatre.
- Products
- Each product is an independent application on its own address. The first, PDF Editor, is live.
- Funding
- No investors. The PDF Editor is funded by voluntary donations, which unlock nothing.
- Data
- Our products are designed not to collect it. Data we never receive can’t be sold or leaked.
- Openness
- Behaviour, network connections and limitations are published for each product. The source code is not public yet.
What we won’t do.
- Sell, rent or share data about the people who use our products
- Add dark patterns: fake urgency, confirm-shaming, hidden cancellation
- Limit a feature artificially to push an upgrade
- Put a watermark on your work
- Change a published promise without recording it first
